Guidelines for Success

Fruit and Vegetable Program
We have received a grant of  $25,000  to provide each child with a healthy and fresh snack two times a week. The snacks will provide a nice variety of fruits and vegetables to help keep our kids healthy and happy. Check the PE website for more details of what snacks will be provided and other fun facts about good food!
Doggone Successful Reader Program
Every student at Caldwell will be bringing home their first Doggone Successful Reader (DSR) reading log on Friday August 19, 2011.  We are asking that your child read at least 4 books or 4 chapters from a book and record on their reading log.  At the end of the week, they need to choose their favorite book from the week and write a response for their favorite book that they read.  The first DSR reading log is due on Friday August 26.  Every child that completes their reading log and turns it in on Friday will receive a paw that they will write their name on.  The paws will placed around the school starting at the library.  When we reach a goal, every student in the school will get a bracelet with a charm.  Please help us reach our first goal.

Speak Up
SPEAK UP Anonymous Tip ServiceWichita Public Schools students have the ability to provide anonymous tips to keep schools safe by using text messaging and/ or through a secure web link. The district’s Crime Stoppers in Schools program has introduced the Speak Up program, which allows students, staff and parents the ability to send anonymous tips through a secure website. The funding for the services is provided by Crime Stoppers of Wichita/Sedgwick County and Fidelity Bank.

Speak Up allows anyone to share information that will be anonymously received. The service offers submission of tips through both a secure website online, as well as text messages that are encrypted and routed through secure servers to protect the sender. In either case, the user is given an alias and a unique ID before the message is sent to the school. This allows the user and the school representative to have a two-way dialog without revealing the sender’s identity.

TWO WAYS TO SUBMIT AN ANONYMOUS TIP:

1.
CLICK HERE to be taken directly to a secure tip reporting website

2. Text your tip to 274637 and begin your message with 'SPEAKUP'
